Asthma is a serious and common chronic condition that affects 10% of Western Australians.  On average, 1 person a week living in WA dies from asthma. Thanks to donations, Asthma WA improves the lives and safety for people with asthma in many ways:

  • Direct assistance to people with asthma and their families
  • Community engagement to improve awareness about asthma and emergency first aid
  • Asthma Friendly Schools program
  • Partnering with other organisations to serve high risk groups
  • Training for doctors, nurses, and pharmacists
  • Advocacy in public policy development
  • Respiratory research to improve treatment and search for a cure

In the last year, Asthma Foundation WA:

  • $250,000 invested in respiratory research
  • 270 schools taught about asthma and emergency first aid
  • 260 free clinics directly helped people with asthma
  • 78 sessions training for health professionals
  • 12 trips to regional WA to serve those most in need
  • 1500+ callers received information on the freecall 1800ASTHMA helpline
