Does your child keep you up at night with their coughing?

Do you feel your child’s asthma is not under control?

Asthma can be difficult to diagnose and optimise in children, and sometimes requires several appointments bridging different health professionals across hospital and community services.  Families need to take time off school and work, deal with waiting lists, and sometimes travel to and from hospital clinics.

Asthma WA’s Children’s Asthma Hub (formerly Paediatric Respiratory Hub) is bulk-billed and aims to alleviate some of this stress and expense. It provides lung function testing, immediate analysis and review by a respiratory specialist, and consultation with an Asthma WA Respiratory Health Nurse all in the one appointment and location.

By bringing together these key services, we are able to give families greater clarity and confidence in managing their child’s respiratory condition while they continue on their journey for a formal diagnosis.

The service is available for children aged 4-18 years old. A referral from your GP is needed with appointments currently available at our Cockburn clinic rooms, with a view to expanding the service dependent on funding.

Health professionals with young patients with suspected asthma or another respiratory condition can refer them to the Children’s Asthma Hub via the form below.
